Lost Footballs.
Three new footballs used in the North v. South Island Rugby match did not return to the Lancaster Park pavilion, according to a statement by Mr J. K. Moloney at the meeting of the Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Union last night. He said that three had been lost, and he thought that the North Island players had them. Mr Moloney’s remarks arose on reception of a letter from the New Zealand Union asking for the gross gate-takings of the match and stating that the charge for new footballs was
excessive, as they were still in Christchurch. A member: Tell them they are n Wellington. It was decided to reply along the lines of Mr Moloney’s report.
