The Canterbury College Orchestral Society's annual concert is to be held to-morrow night, not last night, as advertised yesterday. At a carnival dance with novelties and competitions, held in aid of the funds of the St Albans School, over 140 parents and friends attended. Prizes were awarded to the winners of the Monte Carlo dance. Miss Bigham and Mr Dendall, and the snowball dance (Miss Beaton and Mr Anderson). Mrs G. Seaward and Mr Carlington won the euchre prizes. From to-day „ the stand-by electrical powe'r generating plant* at Lyttelton will be operated for sixteen hours daily, to conserve the water supply at Lake Coleridge. The plant has a nominal capacity of 6000 kilowatts and it will be operated at slightly under its full load during the next three or four months.
