SHOW PREPARATIONS.
\Next Saturday the Winter Show will open, but before it does several days’ work are required to transform the King- Edward Barracks into a citv of stalls with the products of the province prominently displayed. Already the work of building: the annexe in Cashel Street to house the sideshows has c«mnjenced. The real work of erecting officially until S o'clock to-morrow morning:, when the Winter Show authorities take over the barracks. This morning- some preliminary work was being done. Workmen were sawing timber into lengths for the stalls, while work had also started on the Banks Peninsula and North Canterbury bays. The rafters of the barracks were bidden by coloured bunting, and part of the lighting had been completed.
