“ MONEY FOR NOTHING.”
Mr Seymour Hicks Relieves the Tedium of Life.
Bright, witty, clean and animated, “ Money For Nothing,” which is now showing at the Crystal Palace Theatre, is the thing most to be desired in comedy on the screen. It caters for
all, from the oldest || to the youngest.. If Its success is due i mainly to Mr SeyM mour Hicks, who H takes the leading |1 pa r t remarkably 1 well. In his every word, glance, gesI ture and expression y there are fun and I humour, and plenty lof them, and here " he has ample oppor- * tunity to shine as I the bright particu- | lar' star he is. He is supported by Miss Betty Stockfeld and Mr Henry Wenman.
The diction all through is good, but occasionally Mr Hicks runs his words together too closely, and he and his colleagues sometimes speak into the screen instead of into the theatre. These are minor faults; perhaps it is ungracious to mention them in the notice of an excellent comedy.
The entire programme, from beginning to end, deserves high praise. It is well selected, every item bearing the stamp of originality and art.
