PORT OF LYTTELTON. New York Cargo on City of Canton. The City of Canton arrived this morning from Wellington to discharge New York cargo. She proceeds this afternoon to Dunedin. The Waipiata, from southern ports, arrived this morning to load for Auckland. She may sail for the north to-night. The Koutunui arrived shortly after midnight from Gisborne with cattle. The vessel, on discharging, commenced loading for east coast ports. The John and the Gale arrived this morning from Timaru, the former to load for Wellington, New Plymouth and Waikato, and the latter for Wellington and Wanganui. TO-DAY’S BIRTHING LIST. She proceeds to Dunedin, Oamaru and Timaru to complete her loading. KAITOKE is due here from Westport to-morrow, via Bluff and Dunedin. The vessel will discharge a part cargo of coal. JOHN arrived here this morning from Timaru to load for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui. GALE was an early arrival nt Lyttelton this morning from the south to load for Wellington and Wanganui. She sails for the north this afternoon. WAIPIATA is engaged in loading here to-day for Auckland. She may sail for the north this evening. PORT WAIKATO is due here tomorrow from Timaru to load for Tauranga, Auckland and Whangarci. OPIHI, due to-morrow from Dunedin, via ports, will load for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth. Gaskin, chief officer of the Kaimiro, has transferred to the Wingatui in a similar capacity. ■Mr R. D. Brebner is now chief officer of the Opihi. Mr J. IT. Ibbotson has joined the Waikouaiti as second officer, relieving Mr E. J. Deed for holidays. Mr H. M. Hughes has joined the Ngnkuta as third officer, relieving Mr A. H. Gill for holidays. Mr P. Palmer has relieved Mr W. Graham as chief engineer of the Orepulci. Mr A. Campbell, first mate of the Holmdale, has transferred to the Holmglen, relieving Mr B. Shepphard. Mr D. R. Munro, second mate of the Holmdale, has been appointed first mate, and Mr Shepphard has joined as second mate. WAINUI FOR MELBOURNE. The intercolonial steamer Wainui arrived at Bluff yesterday morning from Wellington and was dispatched from Bluff for Melbourne last evening. The vessel will load at Melbourne for Bluff. Dunedin. Lyttelton and Wellington, and should leave the Australian port on August 10, arriving at Bluff on August 15, and Lyttelton on August 17. WESTMORELAND’S ITINERARY. The itinerary of the Westmoreland, which is at Gisborne, has been altered. She was to leave Gisborne last night for "Wellington, where she is due to-night or early to-morrow morning. Her subsequent dates are uncertain, but she will sail finally from Napier for the United Kingdom, via Montevideo and Dakar. RANGITATA REPORTS.
