COMMUNIST RIOTING.
Raid Made on Consulate in Sydney. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, July 31. The Communists anti-war demonstration resolved itself into small battles with the police throughout the city. One party of seven, led by a redhaired woman, attempted to raid the Japanese Consulate and police had to use their batons to disperse the gathering crowd. Four persons were arrested. Many arrests were made in other localities on charges of riotous behaviour and assaulting the police. Altogether thirty-two arrests were made after many exciting and violent scenes, in which, the police, who were splendidly organised, always triumphed.
