Spring has Come.
'A Garden Corner
VERIFY the truth of this
one has only to take the tram to the Takahe and note the gar den display on the way up Hackthorne Road. Surely the breath of balmy spring has touched with its fairy caress the vegetation thereabouts; indeed, there is littl-3 evidence that winter has been there at all, for geraniums and other tender growths are fresh and unspoiled by frosts or cold winds.
On the flat there certainly are signs of swelling buds on the roses, but up on the IT ills several of the early trees are in blossom.
Flowering Currant, Prunus Pissardi, Prunus Mume, Cydonias, Tree Lucerne, are some noticed on a recent visit, that prove the passing of winter in a way very comforting to those who love not the cold weather.
Marguerite Daisies and Othouna Daisies are different in that they are normally at home there in winter. All the same they provide a colourful display that is appreciated and welcome. T. D. LENNIE
