PERSONAL ITEMS.
Miss .T. Smith, Christchurch, is spending a few days with Miss E. Armstrong, Springbum. Mrs J. E. A-ustin and Miss Kathleen Austin, Oamaru, are visiting Christchurch. Mr and Mrs E. Y. Whitehorn arrived in Christchurch from the north this morning. Mrs C. Rutherford arrived this morning by the ferry steamer from the north. Mr and Mrs W. Burke are Wellington visitors to Christchurch. Mrs Melville, who has been staying in Christchurch, left this morning for the south. Mrs George Turrell, Little River, is the guest of Mrs J. F. Buchanan, Fendalton. Miss M. Haar, Tinwald, is visiting Christchurch for the Dawson—Hepburn wedding. Arrangements have been made for a dance to be held by the Opawa Lawn Tennis Club at Frascati on Thursday, July 2S. Bob Bradford's orchestra will be in attendance. Guests at the Hotel Federal include: Mr J. S. Webb (Cheviot), Mr M. Taylor (Auckland), Mr J. J. Anderson. Mr. G. Poole (Sydney), Mrs and Miss Elder (Amberley), Miss L. Morrin (Blenheim), Mr R. Galbraith (Dunedin). Dr Florence Craig, Wellington, has been appointed a house surgeon at the Christchurch Public Hospital. Dr Craig is a daughter of Dr G. Craig, Comptroller of Customs, who, accompanied by his wife and another daughter, is at present on his way to Ottawa.
