THE TEACHER WINKED.
What Lord Bledisloe Saw at Tauranga. (Special to the - Star.”) AUCKLAND, July 1. I have had two exceptional experiences to-day, said the Governor-Gen-eral (Lord Bledisloe), replying to a welcome at Tauranga yesterday. “ I heard a schoolboy make as good a speech as any member of Parliament. I also saw' what I have never seen in New Zealand before. I saw a lady schoolteacher wink. Why she winked T do not know'. Anyway, it seemed to be evidence of humour coupled with secretiveness, which I shall always associate with Tauranga.”
