Australian Itinerary is Approved. OBJECTION' TO SUNDAY PLAY, j The Management Committee of the New Zealand Hockey Association met last evening - , Mr IT. S. J. Goodman presiding. The meeting was called for the purpose of discussing the itinerary of the New Zealand team in Australia. The suggested itinerary submitted by the Australian Association is as follows: The team will leave New Zealand on July 15 and arrive in Sydney on July 10. Wednesday, July 20. v. Far North Coast, at His more: July 23, v. Queensland, at lirisbane: July 25, v. Ipswich, at Ipswich; July 27, v. Toowoomba, at Toowoomba; July 2S, v. Warwick, at Warwick; July 30, v. Tonterfield, at Tenterfield; July 31, arrive at Sydney at about 10 a.m.; August 1, v. Metropolitan, at Sydney; August 3, v. Central Western, at Orange; August 6. v. Federal Capital, at Canberra; August 7, v. Central Southern, at Goulburn; August 10, v. South Australia, at Sydney; August 11, v. Western Australia, at Sydney; August 13, v. Australia, at Sydney; August 16. v. Junee, or Crook well, at Junee or Crookwell; August 20, v. Victoria, at Melbourne: August 24, v. New South Wales, at Sydney; August 26, leave Sydney for New Zealand. The itinerary was approved, with the exception that the association desired to convey its disapproval of Sunday fixtures. and stated that it would prefer to play two matches on the one day. The manager was given power to agree to any other arrangement of matches. GAME IN CANTERBURY. Fresh Competition to be Commenced. MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The Management Committee of the Canterbury Hockey Association met on Wednesday evening. The explanation of the Wesley Club for the default of its third grade team against Kaiapoi on June 11 was accepted. Mr E. Harvey, referee, reported the state of the goal posts at Sydenham Park and the Grounds Committee stated that the defect had been remedied. Owing to the repeated complaints received as to the state of the ground at Simeon Street, it was decided to write to the City Council asking if the ground could be improved. Mr R. Grade wrote declining position as a member of the Senior Selection Committee and Mr C. C. Holland was unanimously elected to the posiThe Herbert Smith Trust Fund trustees advised that, in reply to the association’s request for a. grant towards trophies for schoolboys, the amount donated last season would be available this season. The Hockey Referees’ Association wrote in reference to the penalty imposed on a Trinity senior player for an offence in the five-a-side tourney on June 3. The Referees’ Association stated that in its opinion the fullest evidence had not been forthcoming and asked that the case be reopened and that, further evidence be procured. A motion that the request be granted and the case be reopened was defeated. The Competitions Committee reported that the second round of the senior competition had been concluded and that the Trinity team was in practically an unassailable position. It was decided to close the competition and declare Trinity the winners and to start a fresh competition next Saturday. The Schools Committee's suggestion that the Otago Association be invited to send teams to Christchurch was agreed to.
