PUBLIC TRUST OFFICE.

Popular Annual Staff Dance. NOVELTIES ADD TO ENJOYMENT. Various musical items and novelty dances greatly enhanced the popularity of the annual staff dance of the Public Trust Office, which was held last evening in the Frascati Cabaret. Over one hundred couples were present and to them the members of the committee extended a friendly welcome and pleasing hospitality. A varied programme included the following items, which were interspersed among the dances: — Song, Miss Nancy Bowden; recitation, Miss Rae Barrell; songs, Mr W. Toomey and Mr J. B. Pearson; piano solo, Mr C. B. Josland; exhibition dance, Mr and Mrs Leo. Bowden. The guests of honour were Mr A. R. Jordon, District Public Trustee, and Mrs Jordan, who was wearing an attractive gown of black georgette with side panels of fine black lace.

The committee members were: Misses L. V. Hickev (honorary secretary), M. M. Cant, L. B. Todd and E. Frazer; Messrs M. O’Reilly (treasurer), J. M’Carten, G. Wallace and D. M’llroy. Miss Hickey wore a dainty powder pink satin frock with diagonally inset flares, and a jade green panne velvet coatee; Miss Cant’s attractive frock of palest leaf green satin, quaintly embroidered in green and gold, had a yoke and deep hem of pastel pink satin; Miss Todd wore a pretty frock of larkspur blue satin cut on long fitting lines, with a pale marigold ring velvet coatee; Miss Frazer was wearing a dainty frock of mid-night blue ninon, patterned in large lacquer red and beige flowers and mounted over red satin, with a cloak of red velvet.

Music for the dancing was supplied by the Herdman-Fisk Orchestra. A ballon shower and several old-time waltzes added enjoyment to the dance programme.
