KIXG- SOLOMON DEEP LEAD, LTD. Tlie following is a report on the work done at the mine for the period ended June 25, 1932: Radford’s Section: CO feet of cross putting was done at Radfords. There is a white sand bottom and nice-looking wash of poor gold values. East of the No. 2 drive 192 feet of driving was done. The first 100 feet of this drive was in drift and pug; the next 100 feet was through solid bed rock; at the 200 feet point a change took place and we cut a nice body of wash lying on the white sand bottom. The white sand pitched away underfoot, but there is still wash showing in the drive. Good prospects of gold were taken with the dish, but the depth of water prevents estimating a true value of the wash. A drive was started off the end to the west and connected with the old workings, where a large body of water is lying and will have to be drained, preparatory to going to the dip. The prospect of opening up a field of wash in this section of the mine is good. Dip Section: Fifty feet of driving to the dip was done. There was a fairly heavy wash driven on for the total distance and the prospects of gold at different points were fair. A cross cut was completed for 13 feet. Good looking wash was exposed, showing fair gold values. The place known as the top section is developing a nice body of wash. A considerable amount of driving and cross-cutting has been done to keep on the lead and at time of writing the developing end is showing two feet of a tight wash, totally different from other wash already worked in the mine. The drift overlying the wash is also very tight, with the result that the use of timber is cut down considerably. The locality of this wash is north of the shaft and the direction of the lead is east and heading for the old Winding Creek workings. There is a space for a big field to the east, that is, between the present working face and the Winding Creek workings. MAEAXIFAWA GOLDFIELDS, LTD, The mine manager of Maliakipawa Goldfields, Ltd., reports for the week ended June 28 as follows: North Face—Advanced J 4ft making a total of 9 4ft north of shaft cross-cut. Appearance of blue wash improved, and contains large boulders. Prospects taken on west side, poor grade but those on east side of drive consistently fairf grade. About 18in of bottom rock show-" ing on east side with tendency to be lower on this side. No. 6 West Cross-cut—Advanced 6ft total IGft west of south drive. The limber here was standing low and difficulty has been experienced in getting a start. The bottom rock is hard on the north side, and here the wash is above, the back laths. On the south side the bottom rock is soft and some 3ft of fair grade wash is showing. Much water is issuing from the back of this cross-cut at this point. Blocking south of No. 6 west crosscut to No. 7 west cross-cut is in good grade wash and the wash appears to be continuing to the west. Blocking south of No. S east crosscut now in poor grade wash and south of No. 7 east cross-cut in fair grade wash. Return on June 24, 270 z gold (alluvial). Sale of New Purniture. Messrs C. E.
