JEWELLERY STOLEN.

Premises Burgled at Rangiora. HOLE CUT IN DOOR. The business premises of F. B. Lane, jeweller, situated in High Street, Rangiora, were entered by burglars last night and jewellery valued at over £IOO was stolen. On arriving at the shop, which is a lock-up one, Mr F. A. Lane found this morning that the back door of the workshop had been forced and entrance gained to the shop by cutting a hole about thirty inches by twelve through the communicating door, which was locked and bolted. Watches, rings and gold medals were taken from the window and showcases, the thieves selecting the smaller articles of value without disturbing the remainder of the stock. An unsuccessful attempt was made to force the safe, which contained a quantity of valuable jewellery.
