Golden Dawn. Messrs Laurenson and Lewis report that the Golden Lawn mine, for thirteen days to June 23, treated 369 tons for a return of £958 valued at £4 per ounce. This at current prices plus exchange premium is worth approximately £1437. The mine has now been operating for

six months, during which period 3914 tons have been treated for returns of approximately £14,500. This is the actual realisation of bullion recovered to May 23, and the estimated value of the last two bars of bullion at current prices, plus exchange premium. The returns represent approximately 2400 ounces of gold for the period. OOLCOND A GOLD MINING COMPANY Luring the week ended June 25 the following work was carried but:—The shaft was sunk a further distance of six feet total below chamber 36 feet. A leader between two and three inches in width was passed through, which made progress slower. This leader has a very promising appearance, carrying zinc blende, but no gold was seen in it. TALISMAN DUBBO GOLD MINES, LIMITED. The mine manager’s report for the week ended June 25 states: —Luring this week eleven feet of driving was done, having holed through to No. 1 Talisman level, which was collapsed, so will continue to drive on on the hanging-wall. The country is still of a good class. GOLDEN DAWN GOLD MINES, LIMITED. DIVIDEND PAYMENTS. (Special to the “ Star.”) # AUCKLANL, June 30. The directors of Hill and Plummer have decided not to recommend the payment of a dividend for the year ended April 30. The directors of His Majesty’s Theatre Arcade have decided to pay an interim dividend of 3 per cent to the ordinary shareholders. The usual 3i per cent dividend to preference shareholders will be paid, less 20 per cent. DAIRY PRODUCE. N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Report. LONLON, June 29. New Zealand dairy produce quotations are:—Butter, 9Ss; cheese, 57s to 5Ss. The market is firm. AUCKLAND BUSINESS. (Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLANL, June 30. On the Stock Exchange interest has been fairly keen in Government stocks, but has also covered other sections, notably banks, insurances, breweries and Australian. Fresh bidding this moring was rather quiet, with few special features. Buyers moved up to £6 18s for Union Banks and to 25s for New Zealand Breweries, with holders asking 26s for the latter. In Government stocks, £94 was offered for 4J per cents and par for 5i per cents.
