CHIEFTAINS WELCOMED.
Will Inspect Rotorua Schemes. Per Press Association. ROTORUA, June 30. A number of influential Ngapuhi chiefs, led by Mr Tau Henare, M P., arrived from the north on Wednesday to inspect land settlement schemes in the Rotorua district. The one-time inveterate foemen of the Arawas were extended a ceremonial welcome at a very large native gathering. The Native Minister (Sir Apirana Ngata) was present, and with Arawa, Ngapuhi and Tuwharetoa (Tokaanu) representatives he will tour the district in the next few days.
