TEACHERS’ CONTEST.

Annual Training College Tournament. Yesterday afternoon, under favourable conditions, the students of Christchurch Training College held the annual senior v. junior tournament, when the firstyear students tried conclusions with the second-year students in various sports. The events included swimming, basketball, hockey and football. The swimming contests were decided on Tuesday afternoon, but the lawn tennis games are still in progress and the result there is in doubt. The cricket match will not be played until the final term. The results so far have given the senior students victory in four contests and the juniors in one the men’s hockey. The tournamenl therefore must result in a win for the seniors. A tournament dance in tin College Hall last evening concluded the day’s activities. Results:— SWIMMING. Men’s 33 1-3yds free style—.T. Barli (S.) 1, W. Hocking (.1.) 2.
