LATE SPORTING.
TROTTING CLUB DISBANDS Per Press Association. CARTERTON, June 30. At a special general meeting of the South Wairarapa Trotting Club held at Grey town last night it was decided to disband. The club has £33 in hand and owes the Carterton Racing Club £3106. A meeting to re-organise will be held on. July 27 and in the meantime a vigorous canvass for members will be carried out.
Final Gallops for Oamaru Meeting.
The state of the ground after the heavy frost prevented galloping at Riccarton in usual hours this morning, but by lunch time the No. 1 grass had thawed out sufficiently to make fast work possible. Several of the Christchurch horses, who hold engagements at the Oamaru meeting on Saturday, were sent against the watch this afternoon. Craigavon and Weatherly were companions for seven furlongs. They kept together all the way and completed their task in lmin 313-ssec. Bel voir and Dunraven were sent .six furlongs, the last half mile of which was run in 51 3-ssec, and they finished on terms. Niggerhead was slightly in front of Red Royal at the end of a five furlong task. Their last furlongs were run in 51 2-ssec. Rascal "“and Appeal did a strong five furlongs together. The Riccarton horses which are to race at Oamaru will go south tomorrow.
