AGREEMENT LIKELY.
Mines Conference May End This Afternoon. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 30. * The Northern District Coal Conference continued to-day. The miners have agreed to a number of the owners’ proposals, but also brought counterproposals, which will be considered by the owners this afternoon. It is expected that the conference will end this afternoon, and it is stated that an agreement acceptable to both sides may be reached, in which case the Ilikurangi and Waikato men’s representatives will leave immediately to report to their unions.
