The Pascoe Estate.
To the Editor. Dear Sir,—l should consider it a verygreat favour if through the medium of your paper vou would help me correct a very erroneous idea re my interest m the Pa. I eeaev From some published reports the public seem to have gained the idea that I am to receive the nTajor part of the fortune. This is quite incorrect and neither myself nor Mrs Pascoe have any desire to create such an impression m the minds oi the general public. The true facts of the case so far as I know them are as follows.— The amount left to the Pascoe famif bv mv great-uncle in America was slight! in excess of £23.000,000. My father (Mr Simon Pascoe, of Central Otago' has recently sent me word that our late grandfather and his descendants have been officially recognised as the undoubted heirs to the 'fortune. My father has six brothers and three sisters, who, together with their children, will all share in the money The exact amount that each member of the family will eventually receive cannot be foreseen at the present moment. It must, however, be a very huge amount. Whilst it is decidedly possible that I may be leaving for England in, the very near future on business matters, it is not for the purpose of establishing our claim, which has already been done by mv uncle, the Rev William Pascoe, who is at present in England. Whatever happens, it is mv intention to return to and take up my rcsidence in Christchurch.—l am, etc.. A. J. PASCOE. PS. —Other papers please copy.—A.J.P.
