In One Tomb.
YEARLY 5000 years ago eighteen people were buried, with strange and elaborate ritual, in one tomb at Ur of the Chaldees. The tomb, excavated by Mr Leonard Woolley, of the joint expedition of the British" Museum and the University of Pennsylvania, is described as a complete mystery to the archaeologists. No one knows who the people may have been. One of the coffins had left in the soil so clear an impression of itself that a photograph shows not only the texture of the reeds of which it was made, but the strings by which the reeds were laced together.
