SAVAGE CLUB KORERO.

The Savage Club held its fourth korero on Saturday night, when Savage Dr Douglas Anderson occupied the dais. He was installed by Savage H M’D. Vincent. The programme was one of the best yet given .and the very large gathering of members thoroughly enjoyed every item. Two features of the evening were the topical verses, composed by Sav age L. E. Vernazoni, and the chairman’s conducting of an item by the orchestra, entitled “ Wait and See.” Both items were loudly applauded. Savage Harold Beck and his players gave an artistic interpretation of “ Ballet Egyptian,” by Luigini. Two other numbers by the orchestra were “ Cavatina ” (Raff) and a march, “Commonwealth” (the score Jor which was presented by Savage T. Cloudesley). Hearty congratulations were extended to Savage A. C. Cottrell, whose son had scored two tries in the Rugby match, New Zealand v. New South Wales. The Great Chief (Savage A. M Bums) announced that the annual church service of the club would be held in Trinity Congregational Church on Sunday evening, July 10, and that the service would be conducted by the Immediate Past Great Chief of the club (Savage the Rev D. Gardner Miller).
