James Hughes Curtis, the former millionaire yacht builder, who has confessed that he led Colonel Lindbergh and the police on a wild goose chase by a fabricated story that he was in touch with the men who kidnapped Lindbergh’s baby, has' been committed for trial on a charge of having obstructed justice. An angry crowd mobbed the court house at Hopewell, and the police had to protect Curtis. He has been placed in gaol for his own safety. Curtis has also admitted that he attempted to obtain £SOOO for the kidnappers with whom he claimed to be dealing.
