In view of economic conditions a meeting of Kaiapoi ratepayers last night decided to ask the Borough Council not to proceed with the proposed sewerage scheme for at least two vears. The approximate cost of the full scheme was £26,000, and of a modified scheme, which did not include some of the sparsely populated parts of the town, £20,000.
