Whitcombe beat Wolliscroft at the nineteenth hole. Easterbrook beat Sayner 3 up and 2. Hodgson beat Buckle 6 up and 4. Rhodes, who was Duncan’s ex-assist-ant, beat his old master. Barber is Midlands .champion. He played golf that Bobby Jones could hardly have withstood. He went out in 32 and took only one putt on each of the nine greens.
