CHARGE OF ASSAULT.

Man Must Control Temper, says Magistrate. (Special to the “ Star.’*) TIMARU, May 19. George Alexander Bell appeared on remand for sentence before Mr C. R. Orr-Walker, S.M. The charge was that on May 13, at St Andrews, he committed an assault. Senior-Sergeant Mathieson said that the accused’s chief trouble was that he was not able to control his temper. He had promised not to cause further trouble if he were liberated. The Magistrate said the case had serious aspects. The accused had threatened to commit a crime and do serious injury to people if they came on certain property. Since then he had been in custody. He must be helped to control his temper. Bell was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on within twelve months, special conditions being that he enter into a sufficient bond for £2OO with two approved sureties of £2OO each for twelve months to keep the peace, and that he refrains from entering or besetting the premises at St Andrews lately occupied by him.
