High Telephone Costs.

To the Editor. Dear Sir,—When the Government instituted the wage cuts we were told that the cost of living would come down. Well, in some directions it has, but what is the Government doing towards assisting this work? For instance, the telephone subscriber has just received his half-yearly bill, but there has been no reduction here. Sir, is it not time that some reduction in this charge was made? I’m going to pay this bill, but as for the next—probably I’ll have to economise and cut the ’phone off.—l am, etc.. HARD HIT.
