DASHING ROMANCE.

The main attraction at the Plaza is “ The Unholy Garden.” A drama of the desert, with Ronald Colman, Fay Wray and Estelle Taylor as the featured players. The story is intensely dramatic, with a delightful leavening of romance and humour. There is an excellent supporting programme. The Australian Cinesound News has some interesting pictures of happenings in New Zealand and Australia. STAR OF LAUGHTER. One of the latest romances of the screen is “Man of Mayfair,” which will open at the Plaza on Saturday next. The lilting melody of "Alone with My Dreams ” will soon be sung everywhere. The dancing and singing of Jack Buchanan are a feature of the picture, as well as the excellent cast of players. “ Alone with My Dreams ” is entirely Buchanan’s own composition. As a titled man about town, whose love for a pretty dancer leads him into some delightfully humorous situations. Buchanan’s role in “Man of Mayfair” gives him unlimited scope. Joan Barry, who is featured in the cast, is one of the most brilliant English screen stars, with many stage successes to her credit. She has starred in many British films, including “ The Outsider.” “ Rich and Strange” and “Atlantic.” Others who have leading parts are Nora Swinburne, Warwick Ward, Ellaline Terris and Cecil Raymond.
