Fhe Pope compares present world d social economics to the Biblical deluge.
The Encyclical contains the following striking passage : “ Those very few who appear to have their hands on the world’s wealth, whose speculations were, and are, largely the cause of so much woe, are often themselves the first and most notorious victims, dragging into the abyss the fortunes
:ountless others.”
