ST JOHN AMBULANCE.

Grant Made by Hospital Board. The general committee of the St John Ambulance Association met last evening; present: Dr J. R. Thomas (chairman), Bishop Brodie, Colonel F. W. W. Dawson, Eieut.-Colonel F. B. Creswell Dr F. J. Borrie, Dr M. G. Louisson! Mesdames S. A. Watkins and A. Bishop Messrs H. L. Bowker, F. Rudd, J. Dickson, G. Peek, E. H. Marriner, F. J. Ashworth and P. Taylor. The financial statement showed receipts totalling £77 17s lid, including £39 Is 2d collected by canvassers. The expenditure amounted to £lB3 2s 4d, which was £1 10s Id less than the receipts, plus the credit balance of £lO6 14s 6d at the bank on April 18. There was £3 4s 5d in the petty cash account. The North Canterbury Hospital Board advised that £l5O had been placed on the estimates as a grant to the association. Thanks were extended to members of the Canterbury Automobile Association for having placed cars at the disposal of the ambulance authorities during the recent emergency period in the city.
