EGG PRICES LOWER.

Cauliflowers and Cabbages Still Scarce. FISH SUPPLIES PLENTIFUL.

After remaining at a high price for some weeks, eggs have now become cheaper, a fall of fourpence a dozen having occurred during the week. Fish of all sorts is at present plentiful and reasonably priced. Cauliflowers and cabbages are still scarce and fairly high in price. Tomatoes are going off. and are rising in price, as almost all the present supply comes from glasshouses. The shops are carrying good stocks of citrus fruits at reasonable rates, and also a large supply of Australian jam melons, which are cheap. An unusual tropical fruit, the pawpaw, is now to be had.
