OCCUPATIONAL WORK.

Sale of Sewing, Flairs and Produce. In order to provide supplies of material for occupational work by the inmates of the Christchurch Public Hospital, a sale of their work is held twice a year by the committee of the Hospital Lady Visitors’ Association. This afternoon the general waiting room at the hospital was transformed into a veritable bazaar, with wellstocked stalls and many purchasers. On one side stood the flower stall, massed with beautiful blooms, pot plants and fruit. A wide selection was afforded the housewife at the cake stall, and in another corner an array of sweets were temptingly displayed in coloured paper baskets and fancy containeis. The main stall was that of the patients’ work, where on the long trestle table many useful articles were arranged. They included some lovely embroidered household linen and fancy novelties, children’s woollies, bed jackets, slippers, aprons, overalls, macrame bags and many other attractively made goods.
