Airman’s Diary Reveals Love Passion. NEW YORK, May 6. His love for the Australian flying woman, Mrs Keith Miller, is revealed in a diary kept by Captain Lancaster, the English airman, who has been charged with the murder of the American airman, Haden Clark, who had planned to marry the aviatrix. The diary has been seized and may be used by the prosecution. Notes on the flyleaf explain that “ Chubbie ” mean? Mrs Miller’ and that “ Russell ” stands for J. F. Russell, a man who has been charged with smuggling at Key West. Passages in the diary between the dates March 30 and April 20 include the following:— Nogales: No news from Chubbie. The little devil. I shouldn’t think of her so much. She doesn’t deserve it. Hell. Los Angeles: Russell showed me letters from Mrs Russell, saying that Chubbie and Clark visited her. and she thinks Clark has gained Chubbie’s affection, and “ Bill has lost it.” The mental agony is hell. Los Angeles: Wired Chubbie every cent I could raise, leaving me flat broke; but God may' provide. How to get out of the hotel is the problem. Why no news from Chubbie? 4 a.m.— Tired telephoning Chubbie; but she is not answering. I am ill with nervous Tuscon: Impatience for my departure has been brought on a bit by worry over Chubbie. She must need money. I am having hell. If only Chubbie answered something besides, “ Don’t worry. I still love you.” Thank goodness I am firmly resolved to end all this mental strain, and have it out, then work for our common good. I adore her, and I -want to see her happy. She has two personalities, and I love both. Chubbie, angel, it will not be long now before I see and hold you. Tuscon: I am going to Miami, whatever happens, to find out first hand about everything. I love you Chubbie. I have done my best, but failed.
