COMING-OF-AGE PARTIES.

A pleasant evening was spent at the Rangers’ Hall on Saturday, when Mr and Mrs Norrie entertained a number of friends at a social 'to celebrate the coming of age of their youngest daughter, Edna. The evening was spent in dancing interspersed with musical items by Miss Robinson and Mr Johnson. The usual toasts were honoured at supper and Mr Norrie presented his daughter with the customary key Messrs G. Walker and H. Norrie were M.C.’s. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr and Mrs Messenger and a lucky spot waltz by Mr Turner and Miss G Gilmore. Recently the home of Mrs II ' Withell, Wyon Street, Linwood, was the scene of a pleasant evening when , the coming-of-age of her daughter ; Mavis was celebrated. The drawing-room was beautifully decorated. Games, competitions and dancing were enjoyed and the guest of honour played pianforte solos. The customary toasts were honoured, and the golden key presented to the guest of honour by her father. Prizes in the competitions were won by Mrs M. Withell, Mr and Mrs Falloon, and Mr E. Appleyard.
