ZEPPELIN KILLER.
Wartime Raider to Speak Over Radio. STORM OF PROTEST IN LONDON. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received May 18. 5.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 17. There is a storm of controversy over, the British Broadcasting proposal to permit a series of hazard radio talks by Captain Johann Breithaupt, commander of one of the Zeppelins which raided London in 1915, killing 70 men, women and children and injuring 128. “ I do not see why a person responsible for killing our women and children should be given facilities for telling the British public how he did it,” says Mr Locker-Lampson, M.P. Admiral Mark Kerr says that he hopes that Captain Breithaupt will confine himself to a condemnation of air raids, involving loss of civilian life. The Corporation’s only reply to all objectors is: “ Switch off if you do not like the talk.”
