SPORTSMAN’S DEATH
Mr J. M. Ainge Found on Beach. HAD BEEN IN ILL-HEALTH. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, March 17. Mr John Albert Ainge, aged 43, a well-known wine and spirit merchant and sporting man, who had been missing from his home at St Clair since 10 o’clock yesterday morning, was found dead this morning on the rocks at the St Clair beach, with his throat cut. He had been in ill-health for some time and was suffering from a nervous breakdown. Mr Ainge leaves a widow and five children. Mr Ainge was well known in racing circles. He owned Pink Note and other racehorses
