MISS MARJORIE ALEXANDER
(Special to the ‘‘Star.”) LONDON, February 2. Mrs G. Alexander and her daughter, Miss Marjorie E. Alexander, of St Albans, Christchurch, who came over by the lonic, are looking for a flat in London, where they will remain for the next two years, during which Miss Alexander will study at the Royal College of Music, at which she has gained a two years’ scholarship. Their trip Home was an enjoyable one, for they stopped at Balboa for one night and had a day ashore in Jamaica. They enjoyed the visit to Jamaica exceedingly, for they had time while coaling was going on at Port Royal to run across the island to Kingston, the capital. An amusing incident during their visit to the former was provided by an lonic passenger, an ardent Scot. He paraded the streets playing the pipes and was followed by what appeared to be the native population, en masse, and one coloured woman, all too daring, essayed a few Scottish dance steps.
