Old Collegians Play Sydenham. RAIN DELAYS THE START. The wet weather did not deter Sydenham and Old Collegians from resuming their match, although it took an hour and a half for them to make up their minds. Old Collegians started their first innings with 273 to make to win on the innings.
Dunster and Chrystall opened to the bowling of Bellamy and Watts, and took things very quietly. Chrystall survived a confident appeal from Watts before he had scored. Bellamy had bowled five overs for one run when he added a, w’icket to his bag. Dunster snicked one into the hands of Harper behind the wickets. Dunster had scored thirteen. Lester joined Chrystall. Hamilton took over from Watts at the south end the last over before the tea adjournment. Shortly after the resumption he accounted for Lester, who returned an easy one to him. Talbot and Chrystall carried on, the latter being painfully cautious. An hour and twenty-five mi mites’ batting on the part of Old Collegians had produced 34 runs. Chrystall was dropped behind the wicket at 15. Scores;— SYDENHAM. First innings 272 OLD COLLEGIANS. First Innings. R. Dunster, e. Harper b Bellamy .. 13 H. M. Chrystall, not out 28 R. O.
