The Blue Scabious.
A Garden Corner.
J[-£bhJE FLOWERS of a pleasing tint and with other requisites demanded when seeking some-
thing to fill the vases, are common, but in Scabiosa Caucasiea, the perennial blue Scabious, w e have a plant with few good points lacking. Easy to grow, fine long stalks, and good lasting qualities, are all contained in this popular favourite. It can be * grown from seed, or from bought
plants of the improved perfecta strain, which most of the market growers now cultivate. Like many other border perennials, once planted it should not be disturbed for three or four years, but will send up flowers for quite a period both in spring and autumn. T.D.L.
