Power of the Surf.
To the Editor. Dear Sir, —The writer of yesterday’s letter evidently knows little of the power of surf, when he compares Brighton to Timaru. Caroline Bay never gets the seas we get at Brighton, at least not where the rafts are moored. To put similar rafts at Brighton would mean mooring them a quarter of a mile out to dodge the heavy surf in an easterly gale.—l am, etc., LEE SCUPPERS AWASH.
