WIRTH BROTHERS’ CIRCUS.

Christchurch Season Opens on Tuesday. On Tuesday, December 22, Wirth Brothers’ Circus will begin a season of eight nights, with matinees on Wednesday and Saturday, on ground in Moorhouse Avenue, opposite the railway station. “ The Greatest Show on Earth,” Messrs Wirth Bros’. Circus, this season have excelled themselves in the number of new imported acts that they are offering their many patrons. “Kazbegs’ Troupe of Russian Cossacks,’’ claimed to be the world’s most daring riders, from Ural Mountains, in amazing feats of horsemanship; “The Four Uessems,” the famous balancers and equilibrists, described as “ The boys who defy gravitation”; “ Les Quatre Hirondelles,” the artistic aerial musical act introduced by the four Misses Wirth; “The Santey Duo,” presented by George Wirth, Junior, as “The Human Propeller”; “The Four Sylvesters,” clever juvenile acrobats; Miss Gladys and her marvellous black stallion, “Bob 2nd”; Miss Madeline, dancer and rfder; Miss Doris and her wonderful trained horse, “ Queenie,” in specially selected poses; the wonderful trained Polar and brown bears, performing elephants, lions, etc. Zoo open from 4 to 5 each day. All the above are down for presentation in addition t.o the Wirths’ great show of 300 people, horses, wild animals, lions, tigers, elephants, black panther, etc. Reserve seats may be booked at Begg’s, Manchester Street.
