CITY ORGAN RECITAL.
A recital of Christmas music will be given on the city organ by Dr J. C. Bradshaw on Tuesday next, at 8 p.m. A very attractive programme has been arranged, and as this will be the last opportunity of hearing the city organ for some time a large attendance is anticipated. The plan is at the Bristol. Concessions are granted to students attending colleges and schools. The following works will he included in the recital by request:—Grand Fantasia, “The Storm” (Lemmens); “Dance of the Bells” (Rebikoff). The programme is as follows:—Overture, Pastoral Symphony and chorus, “For Unto Us a Child Is Born,” from " The Messiah ” (Handel); Chorale, “ Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring” (Bach); Scotch carol, “ Offertcire on Christmas Themes ” and the Pastorale and Finale from the First Symphony for organ orchestra , (Guilmant); “March of the Magi Kings” (Dubois); “ Angelus ” from “Scenes Pittoresque” (Massenet); Noel with variations (Louis d’Aquin); “Shepherd’s Cradle Song” (Sommervell); “The Curfew” (Hertzman); sacred song “Nazareth” (Gounod); Festival March in E Flat (Lachner).
