A surprise party, arranged by Miss Helen O’Connell, visited the home of Mr Vincent O’Connell on the occasion of his birthday. Games and dancing were enjoyed. A general meeting of the Hawarden Plunket Society was recently held in the rest room. Mrs J. Doak presided in the absence of the president (Dr M. Wood). A motion of sympathy was passed with the relatives of the late Mr J. K. Forrester.
