PERSONAL ITEMS.

Mrs C. Hill, Christchurch, is visiting Auckland. Miss Phyllis Boyle is staying with Lady Wigram, Park Terrace. Mrs K. Robinson (Timaru) is a guest at the Clarendon Hotel. Mr and Mrs G. L. Ferguson (Dunedin) are guests at Warner’s Hotel. M. and Mme. H. Piat (France) are staying at the United Service Hotel. Mrs Elliston Orbell, Dunedin, is staying with her sisters, the Misses Tabart, Papanui Road. Misses Mary and Egidia Menzies, Victoria Street, will leave next week for Wellington. Mr and Mrs F. W. Payne, London, are .staying at the United Service Hotel. Sir Charles and Lady Statham, Dunedin, will pass through Christchurch to-day on their way to Wellington. Guests at the Hotel Federal include: Mr M. J. Goad (Ilinds), Miss M. M. Price (Waimate) and Mr D. C. Williamson (Geraldine). Miss Minnie Snell, A.T.C.L., Worcester Street, pupil of the late Ernest Firth, F.R.C.0., recently received word that she has been successful in gaining her L.T.C.L, (j>aino), also the L.AB. Teachers Diploma (organ). The Hon Mrs N. Gathorne-Hardy, England, who came to New Zealand to visit her mother, the late Lady Johnston, of -Wellington, will leave at the end of the month on her return. Mr and Mrs A. E. M’Dougall and the Misses Margaret and Violet Livingston, “ Kenwood,” Dunedin, will arrive in Christchurch to-morrow and will leave later in the week to spend a holiday at Hanmer Springs.
