TALKIES IN SCHOOLS.

Dullest Children Aided by New Methods. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, December 16. The report of an experiment carried out by the Middlesex educational authorities in fifteen schools on the use of special sound films as aid teaching indicate that this method of instruction may prove to be of very great value. The committee found that films arouse and maintain interest, help to develop originality, encourage children to read more widely, enrich their personal experience, and connect the work of the class-room with the life of the world outside. Talking films, it is stated, bring the greatest benefit to the dullest children, achieving a greater awakening of intellectual consciousness than can be achieved by any other means.
