Nation Building.
To the Editor. Dear Sir, — 44 Reader ”, instead of resting in confidence on his own argument, has resorted to abuse of me, and has forgotten his grammar, which would seem to show that he can find no way of justifying himself. He talks big about the benefits of war when there is no likelihood of his being called to take part in one; but when I offer him the chance of enjoying war time conditions he does not accept! And he sneers at me as a “ war time pacifist ”. Certainly he is a peace time militarist. My offer still stands. If he believes what he says he will accept it, instead of running away from his guns and shouting abuse over his shoulder. I am sorry he has taken up such a bitter attitude towards me. My offer was made in a helpful spirit, 4 with the intention of giving him an opportunity, at no expense to himself, of establishing in practice the truth of his theory. Only a hypocrite would not jump at the chance.—l am, etc., D.E.K.
