Australian Titles are Decided. CRAWFORD BEATS HOPMAN. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, December 13. The Australian lawn tennis championships were concluded yesterday with the following results:— Men’s Singles—J. Crawford beat I-I. Hopman, 7-5, 0-6, 6-3, 6-4. Crawford played his best game and placed his shots with amazing command. Men’s Doubles—G. L. Patterson and H. Hopman beat D. Turnbull and A. Quist, 2-6, 7-5, 8-6, 6-2. Women’s Singles—Mrs A. Robertson beat Miss le Messurier, 6-2, 6-4. Combined Doubles—Crawford and Mrs Crawford beat Hopman and Miss N. Hall, 8-6, 6-8, 6-4. CHRISTMAS TOURNEY. Games to be Played at Wilding Park. The closing date for receiving entries for the Christmas championship and handicap lawn tennis tournament, has been extended until to-morrow. Entries will be received at the office of the secretary (Mr R. Browning), 104106, Hereford Street. All the events, including handicaps, will be played on the grass courts at Wilding Park, and it is expected that the entry will be a large and representative one. The events for boys and girls under eighteen years of age are attracting a good entry. Entry forms and full particulars may be had on application. SUMNER CLUB. Additional games in the club competitions are as follows; Combined doubles—First round: Miss A. Smith and A. E. Hewstone (owe 30) beat Miss Joy Row and R. A. Row (scr), 6-2, 6-4. > Men’s championship singles—First round: D. E. Clirnie beat H. A. Bishop, 6-3, 9-7. Men’s handicap singles—First round: G. A. Webb (owe 30 3-6) beat J. H. Langdale (rec. 15 1-6), 9-3; W. B. Owen (scr) beat J. Heslop (rec. 15), 9-3; I. J. Wilson (owe 3-6 15) beat R. Lally (scr), 9-8. Women’s handicap singles—First round: Miss H. Cook (rec. 2-6 15) beat Miss P. Smith (owe 15 3-6), 9-S.
