As a sequel to the “ Daily Worker ” prosecution Frank Paterson, aged 26, was convicted at the Old Bailey for inciting to mutiny and w r as sentenced to two years’ hard labour. Paterson fled to Germany when the police inquiries began and was arrested upon his return.

Paterson, in the “ Daily Worker,” called on the Army and Navy to resist cuts in pay and other economies.
