Sequel to Cashel Street Collision A sequel to a collision in Cashel Street in the early hours of the morning of October 11 last, was heard in the Magistrate’s Court this morning, when Arthur Julius Creedon, of Belfast (Dr Haslam), was charged with dangerous driving. An alternative charge of being intoxicated in charge of a motor-car was withdrawn. The charge arose out of a collision that occurred in Cashel Street at 12.45 a.m. on October 11 last. Just before the accident, said Senior-Sergeant Fox, the defendant was driving on the wrong side of the centre line, and had his lights switched off. Dr Haslam said that defendant was suffering from war disabilities. He admitted that he should not be driving a car, and consented to his license being cancelled. The defendant was a married man with four children, and all the money coming into the home was about £2 a month. He was blinded by the lights of the other car, and completely last control of the machine he was driving. Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M. convicted the defendant, and ordered him to pay costs only. His license was cancelled, and he was prohibited from obtaining another until June 1, 1933.
