VEGETABLES REDUCED IN PRICE.

Spring Lamb and Whitebait Quotations Down.

Supplies of the . new season’s green peas, potatoes and tomatoes are more plentiful this week, and prices are lower accordingly. North Island peas are being sold at 9d a lb, and local lines, which are of particularly good quality, at Is 3d. Tomatoes are reduced from 3s to 2s 6d a lb, and new potatoes are offered at 51b a shilling. Fruit prices are unchanged. Spring lamb is more plentiful and of better quality than previously. Quotations are down by 2d on last week’s range. Sirloin and ribs of beef are also being offered at cheaper rates. Fish supplies are better. Whitebait is down to its lowest figure so far this season, the quotation of Is 3d per sib being lower by 3d on last week’s price. Groper is quoted at lOd, a reduction of 2d being made consequent on the improved supply. Meat. Quotations are:— Mutton— per lb.
