WAS A BULLET FIRED?
Bus Driver at Timaru Makes Statement. (Special to the " Star.”) TIMARU, October 1. A sharp indentation in the windscreen of a municipal bus was caused, according to the driver, by a bullet that was fired when the bus was in Arthur Street last evening. The hole is not a complete puncture, so it is possible that it may have been caused by a flying stone. Despite this theory, the driver holds fast to his opinion that a shot was fired.
